Davie Rolls Out New On-Line Communication Program

The Town of Davie just improved the way that people can communicate with the Town.  The new Citizen Support Center can be accessed from the Town’s website at www.davie-fl.gov.

A link on the front of the website titled Talk to Us brings you to the Citizen Support Center where residents can easily navigate through four easy sections, Find Answers, Make a Request, Ask A Question, and My Citizen Action Center.

The new Citizen Support Center is easy to use and will be a great addition to the Town’s website. It is important for residents or anyone having contact with the Town of Davie to be able to communicate effectively in the most practical way.

At a recent ceremony, the Town of Davie was honored for its commitment to the men and women of the National Guard and the military reserves.  Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) “is a Department of Defense agency established to gather and maintain active support from public and private employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve.”  ESGR presented Marcie Nolan, the Town’s development services director, with the Patriot Award, and the Town of Davie with the “Above and Beyond” award.

Town Administrator Gary Shimun signs the Statement of Support

Carlo Galluccio, a planner with the Town and a reservist in the Air Force, works in Ms. Nolan’s department and nominated her due to her readiness to support and work with him to facilitate the often hectic and difficult process of transitioning between the civilian and military worlds, especially during an active conflict.  “Marcie was always supportive and understanding.  I appreciate it,” Galluccio said.  Carlo Galluccio is currently a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force.  He served in Iraq from February 2004 to November 2004.

The Town was also recognized for its commitment to employees who serve in the Reserves and the National Guard.  “As the Town Administrator, I am committed to the welfare of my employees.  As a veteran, I am further committed to the welfare of my employees that serve our great nation,” stated Gary Shimun.  At the ceremony, Mr. Shimun signed a statement of support on behalf of the Town for Town employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserves.

The Town of Davie is proud to have employees who serve locally and at the national level in their roles as military personnel.  For information, contact Braulio Rosa at 954-797-1027.
